DRIFTING WITH JESUS is a novel that tells the story of Jeremy, a Roman Catholic priest from Holyoke, Massachusetts, who wanders away from his church one day and embarks on a penniless faith journey around America. As he travels he explores and educates himself about the various Christian denominations and cults, and through Jeremy's eyes and experience the reader learns the history and doctrine of the Amish, the Mormons, the Quakers, the Shakers, the Christian Scientists, the Baptists, the phony Prosperity Gospel, the Pentecostals, the Seventh Day Adventists, the Jehovah's Witnesses and the Mennonites.  The novel also touches on apocalyptic prophesy and rapture beliefs.  

Jeremy studies Scripture as he travels, and accordingly each chapter opens with an appropriate verse from The Holy Bible.  While educating himself about these various denominations and sects, Jeremy also gives his own Catholic faith a profound examination.  He discovers the many and specific ways Catholicism is at diametric variance with and contradiction to the Scriptures, and he returns to Holyoke several months later, on Easter Sunday, and meets his congregation as they are leaving church.  He greets his friends and explains his decision, then says goodbye, disrobes his vestments onto the steps of the cathedral, renounces Catholicism and walks away.
